When it comes to hiring, you need to think about the cost, both the direct and indirect costs associated with hiring. These costs include salary, taxes and other statutory costs (such as workers compensation insurance, etc.), benefits, business expenses (such as office supplies, software, computer, phones etc.), and utilization (time doing work versus holidays, time off, continuing education, etc.)
With a consultant or contractor many of these costs are minimized or eliminated.
